White Salmon Art Studio
A husband and wife who share an affinity for the arts, a welder and painter each, tasked us for a building to house their crafts and inspire them at the same time. Side by side, they manipulate metal and canvas. This early concept study sought a duality of form. Where each side of the building is its own, combining to form one in simple harmony. Two identical, opposing forms, define the massing of the building. On one side the metals studio, with its vaulted interior and daylight streaming in. The other, houses the main level painting studio, with a guest room above, per our client’s program needs.
