Aveny Rd Residence
Originally built as a modest spec home with mid-century influences, the Aveny Rd Residence is being thoughtfully transformed into a home that can evolve with its owners. What serves today as a weekend escape is being reimagined as the place they will eventually call home full time.
Rather than replacing the existing structure, the design builds upon it with a restrained series of additions that expand both space and function while preserving the home’s original simplicity.
The renovation adds a third bedroom, dedicated yoga space, improved storage, and a reorganized garage better suited to an active lifestyle. Outside, a new carport is formed between the existing garage and an on-site shipping container, which becomes a structural anchor supporting the new roof before ultimately being wrapped in the same exterior cladding as the rest of the home.
