EB Architecture + Design is an award-winning architecture and interior design studio based in Hood River and Portland, Oregon, specializing in custom residential design. We design new homes, additions, and thoughtfully reimagined renovations throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
Every project begins with understanding the people who will live there and the qualities that make a site unique. Our work is distinctly modern in character, yet each project is shaped by its site, its landscape, and the lives that unfold within it. Rather than repeating a formula, we look for the right response to each place—carefully considering how a home sits on the land, captures light, and supports everyday living.
We believe good architecture is often the result of careful editing—removing distractions until what remains feels clear, purposeful, and at home in its setting. Our design process is collaborative from start to finish, with ideas explored, tested, and refined throughout the project. We believe the strongest solutions emerge through thoughtful iteration, careful listening, and a willingness to challenge assumptions along the way.

Erik Becker, Principal, graduated from the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning, where he studied interior design and architecture. After working on a broad range of commercial, hospitality, healthcare, cultural, and multifamily projects, he founded EB Architecture + Design in 2012 to focus on custom residential architecture.
Erik is a licensed architect in Oregon and Washington, an AIA member, and NCARB certified.
Outside the office, you’ll usually find him exploring back roads on a motorcycle, traveling, spending time outdoors in just about any weather, or playing guitar and singing in a rock band.
